Pension

  1. A person becomes an employee after a period of study for 15-20 years. He is appointed only after acquiring prescribed qualifications and after examining him in different ways. As an employee, after a spotless career of about 30 years he is retired and granted pension to support him and his family in old age. Pension for employees is differed payment. It has to be paid every month without delay to the incumbent or his family member as per rules and the orders of courts. But politicians, without any qualification or passing of any tests, getting lifetime pension with only five year service is not just. They gave this benefit to themselves without any thought of appropriacy. The pension rules applicable to employees should be applied to politicians too.
  •  Further there cannot be multiple pensions for a person for being representative of different sections of people at different times. Once a ward member, then Panchayat Presient, later MLA and subsequently MP gets four pensions simultaneously.
  •  Amounts received by politicians should be taxed as is done for other citizens.
  •  In all perks and other benefits politicians should be treated at par with citizens.
  •  In a democracy there cannot be any privileged class enjoying tax payer’s money.
