Is all well with BRS but 10 years rule as a curse?

  • Sarcastic comments of voters are a puzzle
  • Is KCR giving space for defections after elections?
  • Tickets to all defected Congress and TDP MLAs
  • Candidates to sustain tempo for 110 days

Bharata Rastra Samithi is ahead of all political parties in Telangana by declaring its candidates for 115 assembly constituencies. Two aspects of BRS chief and Chief Minister K Chandrasekhara Rao are surprising. Contesting from two places – Gajwel and Kamareddy and giving tickets to all MLAs who came from Congress and TDP is very interesting. KCR ignored seven BRS MLAs and denied tickets to them.

Opting for Kamareddy as second assembly constituency is being taken in a negative shade. Not only political opponents but also common people took the two-constituency contest as a weakness. Is BRS chief doubtful of winning in Gajwel? Secondly, KCR had given party tickets to all Congress MLAs even though the results of internal surveys of party and intelligence wing were against them.

A Kodandapani, a political enthusiast, attributes the reason to KCR’s attitude that he wants to give a message that he will not do injustice to the MLAs who came from other parties. “KCR took the line to attract MLAs of other parties even after 2023 assembly elections. He should lure opposition legislators in both the cases like getting majority or in hung assembly conditions.”

The election date of Telangana is expected to be December 7, 2023, which is a lucky day for BRS chief KCR. There are 110 days for the elections and it is a little bit difficult for the BRS candidates to sustain the hype for such a long period. Election expenditure will be increased with the long duration of poll campaign.

The response of three persons hailing from three districts – Khammam, Yadadri-Bhuvanagiri and Rangareddy districts is very interesting and a subject of study for the political pundits. All the three persons reacted sarcastically to the questions of Prime Post betraying their hidden intensions regarding the next polls.

Vankudothu Laxi, a 70-year-old women in Karepalli in Khammam district and beneficiary of Aasara, responded wisely to the questions.

How are the schemes of KCR in Telangana?  Her answer is -All are good, except double bedroom housing and crop loan waive scheme. What about Aasara and Rythu Bandu ? She said they are good and helping elders and farmers. Do you mean that you vote in favour of BRS in the next election? The reply is in question mode – Will anybody buy cloths in one particular shop for every festival?

The second person that was called by Prime Post is – N Venkanna, a government school teacher in Munugode assembly constituency in Yadadri-Bhuvanagiri district. The teacher tried to explain his mind in detail about the assembly elections in Telangana.

“One thing should be mentioned here. KCR’s role cannot be ignored in realising Telangana dream. For it, he was voted to power twice and it is enough. There is a say that ‘Power corrupts, absolute power corrupts absolutely.’  The corruption stories of BRS government are countless. A businessman’s land in Nampally mandal in Yadardi district was shown under endowments column on Dharani on one day. When enquired about the reason, it is learnt that BRS leaders offered the price for the land less than the market price. The businessman rejected the offer. The businessman was shocked after his land was shown in endowments column in ‘Dharani’. We used to hear such allegations every day”

The final reaction is a milk vendor C Durgaiah resident of Peddambertpet in Ibrahimpatnam assembly constituency in Rangareddy district. Who will come to power in Telangana in the next assembly elections?

Durgaiah reacted immediately and said that ten years are enough for KCR and placing a party in power more than ten years is not good. The other political parties should be given a chance. Ego will develop to the leaders with continuous power. (eom)
