Hyderabad: The State Election Commission came up with fresh order on postal ballot guidelines for GHMC Polls which will be held on Dec 1st.The modified order states that voter has to apply four days prior to the election date, which was seven days earlier. An order was issued by SEC Commissioner Parthasarathi which reads that voters with disabilities, people of age above 80 and Covid positive patients who are tested positive after Nov 1st can vote via postal ballots. Official order gives an option either to go for vote physically or via postal ballot, with ramps and wheelchairs provided at polling booths if t hey chose to vote in person.
Official order also confirms that if a mother with a child in arm can be allowed directly without waiting in the queue line .If corona virus patients miss postal ballots; they are still allowed to vote at their polling stations during last hour of the scheduled time of polling. All required guidelines should be followed by Covid patients like wearing mask, face shield, and hand gloves when they come physically for voting, Commissioner said in official order.
Person who is applying for a postal ballot can visit the SEC official website www.tsec.gov.in and fill their details. The returning officer or Deputy commissioner of GHMC will send the postal ballot to their address.
