Amaravati: AP CM Jagan Mohan Reddy , as a part of Navarathnalu scheme mentioned in manifesto, launched second phase of ‘Jagananna Amma Vodi’ on Monday at Venugoplaswamy College Grounds in Nellore. Through this scheme, 45 lakhs beneficiaries are getting benefit of Rs 6673 crore in the second year. Total 84 lakh children are benefitted through the scheme including Phase 1 & 2.

Jagananna Amma Vodi, scheme, provides financial assistance of Rs. 15,000 per annum to each mother. In case of absence of mother, amount will be credited in account of recognised guardian, below poverty line, irrespective of caste, religion to enable children to educate from class 1 to XII in all government schools which are recognised, private aided and private unaided schools/Jr. colleges. This also includes Residential schools/colleges in AP state from the academic year 2020-2021.

This is one of the great schemes implemented by AP government as it helps in improving the literacy rate and also prevent children from dropping out from their education due to financial difficulties.
