Amaravati : In the light of the Supreme Court decision in his favour, the AP State Election Commissioner Ramesh Kumar has written to the Central Home Secretary requesting him to cooperate in discharging his duties. Since the employees of the State government have been saying they cannot work for elections as they are busy with vaccination programme, the SEC requested the Union Home Secretary to allocate central staff for conducting the elections.
Mean while, SEC Nimmagadda Ramesh Kumar is scheduled to speak to the district collectors through video conference in Monday evening. He ordered that all the district collectors should attend the conference. He would speak about preparing the ground for Panchayat elections.

The SEC has shifted the first round in the elections scheduled to the last round and brought the second round to the first. Ramesh Kumar has requested the retired Army officers to help in the conduct of the elections. There are about three thousand retired army officials who are prepared to work during election time.
TDP Polit Bureau Member Yanamala Ramakrishnudu and CPI leader Ramakrishna have welcomed the decision of the Supreme Court to go ahead with the elections in AP.
