Hyderabad: Prashant Kishor’s IPAC team is well known for political strategies and the team is working for various parties in India. Prashant Kishor, himself is busy in building up anti-NDA coalition and his aides are playing the role of strategists, particularly in South India. For example, Robin is working for TDP in Andhra; likewise, Priya, the name which has been in the realm of speculation.
Y.S. Sharmila opted for Priya to be her political strategist for the newly party, YSRTP. Priya was associated with Kishor’s IPAC team and is the daughter of Thiruvallur(Tamil Nadu) DMK MLA Rajendran. She had met Sharmila at Lotus Pond recently and signed a contract to work for YSRTP for coming assembly elections in Telangana. She will look after social media and campaign strategies for the party. This development received great attention in Telangana and Tamil Nadu politics.
Who is Priya?
Priya completed her education in medicine and worked in cosmetics field in US for a few years. She was married to Kalyanasundaram, who is MD of Polimer TV (also known as Polimer) which is an Indian television channel based in Chennai, India. It was launched by Kalyana Sundaram as a local TV station in Selam. Their First Local Channel is Polimer Channel in Salem, Namakkal, Erode, Coimbatore, Madurai, Dharmapuri. It later changed its programming to an entertainment network and expanded its coverage to the whole State of Tamil Nadu. Priya’s mother, Indira, is well known for MVR, VGR educational institutions in TN bearing her name. Their family is very closely associated with Tollywood actor Mohanbabu. It is well known that Mohanbabu’s elder son, Manchu Vishnu married nephew of YSR’s family. Can Priya, who is busy as doctor, looking after TV and educational institutions along with her mother, do justice to her role as a strategist? Prashanth Kishor worked for YSRCP for 2019 elections and due to his unavailability, Priya entered the scene, say pollsters.
Sharmila silent
Until now, neither Sharmila nor Priya spoke about this, but inner sources of YSRTP confirm that Priya met Sharmila and signed contract as poll strategist for the party. Can Sharmila and Priya combo deliver magic, piercing through strong TRS, BJP and Congress in Telangana is a million dollar question.
