Hyderabad: On Wednesday, Y.S. Sharmila had a detailed discussion with political strategist Prashant kishor’s team at Lotus Pond as per party sources. It is well known that Sharmila announced few days back that PK will work for her party with strategy to expand its base in Telangana and to become a challenging force in upcoming assembly elections. Prashant Kishor was not present but he was in touch with the group.
Paadayaatra, main agenda
The meeting went on for hours with an agenda of ‘paadayaatra’ by Sharmila in Telangana which will commence on October 20th. The walkathon will start from Chevella and continue for a year and will end at Chevalla again. At the same time, there will be a public meeting on October 3rd at Kosgi in Kodangal constituency with a slogan of self respect for backward classes. This is a place from which TPCC Chief Revanth Reddy started his political career in ZPTC elections in 2006.
Route map for paadayaatra, issues to be raised during the yaatra, social media campaign and many other related issues were reportedly discussed in the meeting. YSRTP until now could not prove as a main contender for political parties in Telangana. Even Sharmila’s speeches or dharnas could not attract significant crowds. She hopes that paadayaatra would give her the required fillip.
YSRTP strategy for Huzurabad bypoll
Sharmila has a plan to field unemployed youth in Huzurabad bypoll. There will be independent nominations by unemployed in the bypoll with the support of YSRTP. Sharmila is fighting on unemployment issue for the past few months. But she could not succeed so far to get attention of the youth. Will Huzurabad strategy pay her any dividends remains to be seen. IPAC team headed by Prashant Kishor worked well for her brother Y.S Jagan Mohan Reddy who is now CM of Andhra Pradesh. PK team worked for YSRCP for 2 years on ground and achieved the target. Can it do the same magic in Telangana too?
