- TDP Chief could not meet him during Delhi tour
- Amit Shah busy with pre-arranged schedules
- Dials CBN after returning from Kashmir
- Will meet soon, Shah assures Naidu
Amaravati: Union Home Minister Amit Shah has telephoned TDP Chief Chandrababu Naidu on Wednesday and assured that he will meet him very soon. Amit Shah could not meet Naidu as he was in Kashmir tour with official programme. Though he returned from Kashmir on Tuesday, he could not give appointment to Chandrababu Naidu due to Union Home Minister’s prior appointments. On Wednesday afternoon, Shah dialled Naidu and enquired about the latter’s visit to Delhi. TDP Supreme explained about attack on TDP office and on his party leaders and reported that the law and order situation in AP is deteriorating and there has been increase of drug mafia in state.
Naidu said that a time has come to impose President’s Rule in Andhra Pradesh through Article 356 of the Constitution. Earlier, Naidu submitted a representation on this to President Ram Nath Kovind.
Naidu looking for an alliance to counter YCP
Analysts say that TDP chief is looking for an alliance with BJP to counter strong YCP. Naidu, who had left NDA prior to 2019 assembly elections, made strong remarks against Prime Minister Modi and Amit Shah before and during elections. He joined hands with Congress and made serious allegations during campaign which widened the gap between BJP and TDP. But Naidu says that it is only for State’s interest and he or his party don’t have any ideological differences with the BJP. He also agrees that AP people did not support his party due to break up with BJP. This statement clearly hints that Naidu is looking towards BJP once again to face strong YCP in coming days.
How far will BJP leaders accept alliance with TDP once again is a big question mark. On other hand, the TDP is also trying to have an alliance with Jana Sena as per political observers.
