- In seven years rule, back to back Press meets for the first time by KCR
- TRS Supremo changing strategies after Huzurabad bypoll upset
- Anti-incumbency growing, TRS leaders worried
- Time to step in, feels CM K. Chandrasekhar Rao
Hyderabad: Telangana CM K. Chandrasekhar Rao (KCR) is a well known orator who can attract, make millions sit spellbound with his speeches for hours. This art was fine-tuned by him with the experience as separate statehood warrior. In the last 48 hours, he came up with back to back media meets which was not seen in his seven years rule until now. His voice is different now when he addressed media, once again he became arrogant and looked like a fighter, passing harsh statements against BJP leaders at the state as well as central level. This is surprise turn by TRS President, who used to praise Modi and known to have a soft corner for him. His statements include that BJP will come up with IT, ED raids, or will call as ‘Desadrohi’ if anyone opens his mouth on its rule. He also came up in support to farmers and demanded to roll back three farm laws and reduce oil prices or else he would stage a dharna in Delhi. These are all new twists and turns by KCR. Why this sudden change in him? What signals is he getting from internal sources? Is this to keep fight between him and BJP and sideline the Congress in state? Or is he really worried about surge of Saffron party in Telangana?

Action against Etala marred KTR’s enthronement plan
There were speculations in 2018 after KCR sworn in for second time as CM, that party President will be his son, K. Taraka Rama Rao (KTR). This speculation was carried on until Eatala Rajender’s expulsion episode. Sources say that Eatala and few MLAs objected to KTR’s name as future CM and this was the main reason for Rajender’s expulsion. But whatever the reason may be, dream of both KCR and KTR was halted. Recent GHMC election results also applied speed break for KCR’s dream of anointing his son as his successor. Now the scenario in Telangana politics has changed and has become tough for ruling party. Revanth Reddy, a firebrand, was made as TPCC President, BJP making strong inroads in the state under Bandi Sanjay, Kishan Reddy and with RajaSingh, Raghunanadan and Rajender (now they are called as RRR by BJP cadre). Opposition voice has begun to hunt KCR which had never seen at this level in the past seven years.

Suicides in TS despite Rythu Bandhu
Telangana stood 4th in farmers suicides even TRS government says that it came up with Rythu Bandhu scheme, first in India. But TRS Supremo forgot that Madhya Pradesh state launched it in 2005 and then ‘Shadi Mubarak’ scheme in 2007. At the same time, unemployment is growing up in state and students are angry with CM, these are getting added to natural anti incumbency of seven years rule by TRS. A much worried man, KCR wants to come up with new strategies and schemes to counter opposition allegations. Dalit Bandhu is the new one he opted for, but this also did not win the hearts of Dalits as expected and they have many doubts in their minds about the scheme.

Why KCR spoke about quitting?
KCR said that he will quit if BJP proves that Centre has share in Sheep distribution scheme which is getting implemented with state funds. Analysts say that there is major plan behind this statement. He wants to provoke BJP leaders with his continuous Press Meets and will wait until BJP leaders come up with a statement demanding his resign as he failed in recent by poll. Once the statement was made by the opposition, KCR will throw his resignation letter and will go for early polls. As the opposition is unprepared and will have no time to pick up campaign, KCR wants to en cash this, felt political analysts. The same is opined by TPCC President Revanth and BJP MLA Raghunanadan Rao.

District tours by KCR
KCR wants to start district tours by making Vijaya Garjana Sabha a huge success in Warangal. But this is postponed due to election code of MLCs. KCR has to wait for some time to implement his strategy at the ground level for a while, but in the meanwhile opposition parties BJP and Congress are aiming their guns at the ruling party. The fight looks to be between BJP and TRS rather than being a triangular one, but the Congress sources say that Revanth has his own plans and waiting for time. TPCC President who celebrated his birthday at Tirumala in the presence of Lord Venkateswara returned with redoubled confidence, but the task looks to be too difficult for him at present.

What is KCR’s game-plan?
Congress sources say that the guns aimed by KCR towards BJP are a game plan which is running in the direction of BJP Delhi leaders. They want the fight should be made to look as though it is between BJP and TRS and crush Congress as it happened in neighbouring State, Andhra Pradesh. In turn, TRS MPs will extend support for BJP at centre and state will be in hands of TRS once again. Voters of Telangana will decide which party to crush and which one to be sent into power, until then let’s look at how all the political parties play their game in the upcoming early elections to be scheduled in Telangana State.
