- Fights in state, silent at national level
- Drama and dharna in state, with no proper agenda
- Capital issue or VSP disinvestment, double standards
Amravati: People of AP are looking surprised at the stand taken by the State BJP’s leadership and its double standards whenever an issue is raised related to AP. Even there is no clarity on their internal party matters and with its ally, Jana Sena. AP BJP President Somu Veerraju appears to be a man in a hurry at a press meets that took place two days back.
Confusion on BJP President’s statements
A day before, Somu veerraju said that BJP will give BC a chance as CM of state if it gets into power. He also said that only BJP can do it and dared ruling party and the main opposition party to make such a promise. Within 24 hrs, he changed his statement by saying that his Party President JP Nadda and Chief of its ally Jana Sena Pawan Kalyan will decide about chief ministerial candidate and media misquoted him. This is not the first time; Somu Veerraju twisted his tongue in confused manner.

Amravati Issue
The BJP was found to be maintaining double standards on capital issue. Kanna Lakshmi Narayana, who was Party’s State President earlier , said that High Command is for Amravati and it will be the permanent capital of the State. But as soon as Somu Veerraju took charge, he said that the issue is not related to Centre but his party will do justice to the farmers who are on hunger strike in capital zone. He also met farmers in Amravati but did not promise that it will be the permanent capital for State. Even Jana Sena changed its stand after it allied with BJP. Both these parties which showed emotion and affection towards Amravati changed their mindset and statements post Assembly elections and Jagan Mohan Reddy became CM.
On VSP Privatisation
When Union Minister made a statement about privatisation of Vizag Steel Plant, Somu Veerraju said that his leaders will go and talk with party’s national President Nadda and with the concerned ministers and try to halt the move. Few minutes later, Veerajju said that ‘Disinvestment in Visakhapatnam Steel Plant is part of national policy.

On temple matters
BJP was in alliance with tbe TDP from 2014 to 2019. Somu Veerraju came up with a statement criticising Naidu that he is responsible for diversion of temple funds and demolishing of Hindu temples in large numbers during TDP’s tenure. But he forgot that there was no single statement by his party leaders when all these things took place in five year term of the TDP. But he is in the forefront to say that AP CM Jagan Mohan Reddy is constructing temples as a result of the fight waged by the BJP.
It is better for a party which wants to become the main opposition in the State to look after things and come up with a proper agenda and fight on local issues so as to win the hearts of people.
