A Mumbai court had denied bail to Aryan Khan, son of Bollywood super star Shah Rukh Khan, and extended his custody with anti-drug agency, Narcotics Control Bureau (NBC) till Thursday. Aryan was arrested on Sunday in the cruise ship drugs case. The NCB told the court that it needs Aryan in custody till October 11. To know the details of the supplier and dealer, Aryan should be questioned more intensely, the NCB told the court. 23-year old had kept his cool in the court while his two friends Arbaaz Merchant and Munmun Dhamecha broke down. Aryan’s parents Shah Rukh Khan and Gauri did not attend the bail hearing.
“Investigation is of prime importance and it needs to be carried out. It benefits both accused and investigator,” a judge said while extending the custody of Aryan Khan.
It was found out in the questioning that Aryan Khan has been consuming drugs for four years, according to NCB sources. He used drugs during his stay in UK and Dubai. Throughout the interrogation, Aryan Khan has been crying inconsolably, the agency sources said. A total of eight people were arrested on Sunday, a day after they were picked up from the Cordelia cruise off the Mumbai coast on Saturday when a rave party was going on.
Besides Aryan Khan, the others who were arrested were Munmun Dhamecha, Arbaaz Merchant, Ismeet Singh, Mohak Jaswal, Gomit Chopra,Nupu Sarika and Vikrant Chhokar. Aryan Khan and Arbaaz have been friends for about 15 years. Aryan Khan, Arbaaz Merchant and Munmun Dhamecha were produced before a metropolitan magistrate on Sunday. They were remanded to NCB custody till Monday.
