kolkota: BCCI President and former Indian cricket captain Sourav Ganguly met Bengal Governor Jagdeep Dhankhar on sunday. This gave rise to speculations that the star cricketer may join BJP. However, Raj Bhavan sources said that there is no political agenda behind meet and its just a ‘courtesy call’.

Sourav did not take any questions from media after the meet. But Bengal Governor tweeted saying he accepted the Board of control for Cricket in India(BCCI) president’s invitation to visit oldest ever cricket staidum in India, Eden Gardens.The Eden Gardens was established in the year 1864, which saw thousands of matches played in it.

Meet between Governor and Dada lasted for more than an hour. Even Jagdeep said they discussed on varied issues, political analysts say that Ganguly may join BJP and may contest in next up coming assembly elections to be held in April-May 2021.But Sourav condemned the politcal news and tweeted which reads ‘if the Governor wants to meet you, you have to meet him. So, let us keep it like that.’
