CLP leader Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka demanded the Election Commission of India to bring paper ballot system instead of Electronic Voting Machines (EVM) and it is the demand of the people too. Bhatti made the demand at the AICC 85th plenary taking place in Raipur, capital of Chattisgarh. He said that there were doubts about the EVMs and the EC should bring back the ballot paper. “The Parliamentary democracy is facing a big threat from BJP government. Democracy will survive only when we had opposition parties. BJP government is not allowing the opposition to talk in the Parliament. The defections from other political parties are a serious problem in the country. Madhya Pradesh, Goa and Karnataka were captured by BJP through unethical defections and in Telangana also the ruling party TRS (now BRS) had encouraged defections from the Congress party”, he said.
Bhatti praised Rahul’s ‘Bharat Jodo Yatra’ from Kanyakumari to Kashmir saying that it was a remarkable and historical walkathon and the people all over the country expressed their solidarity with the Congress.
