Hyderabad: When Tollywood big wigs met Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao (KCR), he gave a positive reply to them by giving boons to the industry which was reeling in trouble for six months due to Covid pandemic .He promised that his government will come up with exemptions and special discounts in support to film industry and for the film workers who suffered heavy loss due to halt of film shootings and theatre closures due to Covid. He promised that there will be extension of support for film industry which will be included in GHMC elections manifesto.
Representatives of film industry have called on him at ‘Pragathi Bhavan’ on Sunday to discuss the loss incurred by Tollywood for six months. ”When State government is taking several measures for attracting investments and industries, why will government sit idle when an existing industry is in trouble, KCR said with a positive nod. Everyone knows that Hyderabad is the centre of a large film industry and lakhs of people are employed in this who are dependent on it. Pandemic has caused damage, it is responsibility of everyone to protect and save film Industry, He further added,Let Government and film celebrities make joint attempts on this, he said.
Film Big wigs Chiranjeevi, Nagarjuna, C.Kalyan, Sudhakar Reddy, Niranjan Reddy and few are present in the meeting along with Chief Secretary Somesh Kumar.

Tollywood started supporting TRS government just before GHMC elections and political analysts are raising eyebrows on the timing of the meet. Cine actor Posani Krishna Murali had press meet on Saturday and requested people to vote for TRS. He said KCR is the best CM after NTR, he has seen in politics for more than 35 years. People are surprised to hear his words for not mentioning his admirer Y.S.Rajasekhar Reddy’s name.
Previously Tollywood bigwigs Chiranjeevi and Nagarjuna handed over cheques of donation to ‘CM relief fund.’ The donation is in view of devastation caused to the poor families in city due to heavy lash of rains. Chiranjeevi gave a sum of one core while Nagarjuna donated 50 lakhs. They were warmly welcomed the CM, accompanied by TRS MP Joginipally Satish.
KCR had a chat with film celebrities for a few minutes. He said nearly 10 lakh people are dependent on Tollywood and all are facing problems during Covid Pandemic situation. He praised Tollywood top stars for their support to families of film workers who supplied the essential things to the victims. KCR said that the government will allot 1500 to 2000 acres of land in outskirts of the city for film city with all latest available equipments for shooting. He assured that cinema halls and shootings can resume with Covid-19 guidelines. Chiranjeeivi said that shootings have already been started and requested CM to see that cinema halls be opened as early as possible.
