Khammam: YSR Telangana Party (YSRTP) founder, Y.S. Sharmila, announced that she will contest from Paleru in upcoming assembly elections upon the repeated requests from party cadre on Sunday amid cheers from party activists. As a part of the walkathon, after reaching Nelakondapalli village, Sharmila announced that she will be in the fray from the segment.

She called upon party workers and voters of Paleru constituency to fight unitedly along with her and ensure that she gets highest majority in the history of Telangana State in next Assembly elections. Sharmila further said that she is the only legal heir of YSR in the State and only successor of YSR’s legacy in T state. She further clarified that she has no stakes in Bayyaram mines.

Special focus on Khammam district
Sharmila specially focused on Khammam district from day one where there has a significant number of YSR’s followers and he enjoys good charisma in the district. Many leaders emerged victorious by displaying the photo of late YSR. Sharmila cleverly said that it was the demand from the people that she should contest from Paleru and hence the decision.

There were speculations earlier that Sharmila will contest from two constituencies in Telangana – one Secunderabad and the other Paleru. But party sources say after repeated surveys by the experts, Sharmila is keen on contesting only for one seat and that is Paleru. Party is expecting exodus in coming days from all parties. We have to wait and see until last minute, said a YSRTP leader.

This is sure seat for YSRTP as per survey reports and political experts and Sharmila is tough time for sitting TRS Minister from the district. Even YSRTP is pinning hopes on more seats in Khammam district which is bordering AP State where YSRCP is ruling and her brother Jagan Mohan Reddy is Chief Minister. Party cadres feel that the impact will be on Khammam district and one can see magic in coming days.
