Hyderabad: Telangana State Election Commissioner (SEC) Pardhasaradhi on Thursday held a series of meetings with recognised political parties to know their opinion on arrangements for upcoming GHCM elections. Two members from each party were allowed to express their views in 15 minutes
Opposition parties BJP, Congress and communists made allegations on ruling party stating that manipulations were done in voters list. They also requested to increase voting centres in view of Covid pandemic. BJP opined that SEC should play fair and independent role in elections. All democratic norms are violated by ruling party, TRS, with improper voters list, by removing names in the wards where BJP is strong, party leaders complained to SEC.
As per the official sources, GHMC elections may take place in first week of Dec, most probably on 4th and notification may be released on 16th Nov, after Diwali. For the first time, Election commission is introducing a particular app which will recognise face of the voter in the GHMC elections. After meet, Election Commission is busy with wards list, Voters list, polling stations arrangements and in training of staff for elections.
After Dubbaka result, BJP’s aspirations have risen an it hopes to win 60 seats while the Congress wants to improve its image at least in greater region, and TRS wants to take revenge on BJP by winning 100 seats in GHMC
