Vinod Daniel, Aravindramesh, Australian trade represetative and others.

Vinod Daniel said, “The vision campaigns are part of IVI’s Eye See & I Learn and Eye See & I Work campaigns for children and adults. IVI will conduct 10,000 vision screenings for underprivileged school children and adults each in areas across Chennai.”

“Since IVI began work in 2012, we have vision screened a million people in communities, including school children, across 22 states in India,” he said.

“We thank Five-Star Business Finance Limited for supporting this program. Almost 80 per cent of what a child learns in school is through visual perception. Without visual correction, it becomes difficult for children to complete their studies. The campaign will identify children requiring refractive error correction and willprovide free spectacles. With a pair of corrective glasses, the children can do well in school, participate in games, and help shape a promising future for themselves,” he noted.

“Vision correction and a pair of glasses through the Eye See & I Work program will make adults in communities see well and improve their productivity and earning capabilities. Themobile clinic will be an addition to our existing mobile van that works to reach the unreached in far-flung areas,” Mr Daniel added.

Mr Lakshmipathy Deenadayalan, Chairman & Managing Director, Five-Star Group, said “we are happy to be able to support IVI’s initiative to vision screen communities and children, The vision screening campaign and the Mobile Eye Clinic should help make a difference in people’s lives.”

Also present at the event were visiting members of an Australian Trade and Investment Commission (Austrade) delegation.
