AP CM keen on gaining Kuppam seat for YCP
Naidu undefeated since 1989, but facing tough fight now
Speculations that YCP will field cine actor against Naidu in 2024
Amaravati: Ever since YCP came to power, its Supremo, AP CM, Y.S Jagan Mohan Reddy, has been seriously focussing on Kuppam assembly segment. It is the constituency of his main rival, TDP President Chandrababu Naidu who has been winning continuously since 1989. YCP was successful in defeating TDP in local municipal elections which were held in 2021, now they are moving towards fetching assembly segment too in upcoming assembly elections. Minister Peddireddy Ramchandra Reddy who is looking after the issue repeatedly said with confidence that YCP will win in Kuppam and he is moving in that direction. Up to few days, name on cards was Peddireddy Sudheer Reddy, nephew of Minister, but now a new name came into limelight which became hot topic on social media and on electronic media.
Film Actor in race against Naidu?
Name which is speculating on social media is, Vishal, who is a Tamil actor of Telugu origin. He is son of G.V. Krishna Reddy, who is known as realtor and involved in social services. Vishal, belongs to Reddy community, many times counted himself as one of the diehard fans of Jagan. His ancestors are from Kuppam and have good relations with Kuppam and Chittoor district; he enjoys much following in the district as it is border of Tamil Nadu State. AP CM is understood to have an idea that the combination of YCP’s craze and Hero Vishal’s image will help it win in next elections. Party’s feedback and survey in the constituency was completed and waiting for actor’s nod. All these are speculations within YCP and on social media. Until now, neither actor nor YCP leaders came forward to clear the air.
Naidu on alert mode
Kuppam constituency was won by Naidu seven times but result of recent local elections and municipal elections which came against TDP were worrying a bit. He is touring constituency more frequently and being in contact with local leaders and cadre. He is also spending time by staying in the constituency for the first time in his 34 years political life of Kuppam. TDP cadre, who are confident that their party will come to power in next elections, are trying their best in support their leader in the constituency. But one thing is clear, that TDP has been striving hard to gain upper hand in Kuppam.
If the speculation becomes true, Kuppam will be the constituency to be watched pretty closely in the upcoming assembly election in AP.
