KCR hints at going national once again

  • Says Opposition leaders  expect  him to lead anti-BJP campaign
  • Appoints KTR as campaign manager in GHMC elections
  • Confident of winning more than 100 divisions
  • Repeats sitting Corporators in majority of divisions
  • Asks people to choose between communal trouble and harmony

Kalvakuntla Chandrasekhar Rao (KCR) has launched a high voltage campaign against the BJP as part of his exercise to create a positive atmosphere for his party in the GHMC elections. He once again projected himself as a national leader who would be mobilizing anti-BJP forces in the same way as NTR did in 1983 to get all  anti-Congress political parties on one stage. At the same time, KCR projected his son Kalvakuntla Taraka Rama Rao (KTR) who was already made the working president of the party, by appointing him as manager of the GHMC election campaign. Finance Minister T. Harish Rao who campaigned in the by-election for Dubbaka assembly seat which was lost by the TRS  is not very much there in the picture as far as GHMC elections are concerned. A clear victory in these elections would enhance the image of KTR and his chances of going places.

Lambasts BJP for communal politics

KCR  declared that the national anti-BJP platform  would be launched from Telangana. Speaking at a joint meeting of TRS Parliamentary party and the Legislative party at Telangana Bhavan on Wednesday, KCR said he would be mobilizing all the political forces opposed to the BJP. He called the BJP a ‘Badmash’ party bent upon creating communal trouble in the country.

‘National leaders looking at me to lead anti-BJP plank’

The chief minister claimed that all the national leaders who are opposed to the BJP are looking at him to take up the leadership role in fighting against the communal politics. He said he would be shortly organizing a meeting in Hyderabad of likeminded parties to chalk out a programme to fight against the BJP. Leaders such as Sharad Pawar, Mamata Banerjee, Kumaraswamy, Akhilesh Yadav, Mayawati, Prakash Singh Badal, Naveen Patnaik and Stalin are likely to join the meeting to discuss and prepare an anti-BJP platform. The Congress which was supposed to be an alternative to the BJP has failed miserably and the onus to fight the BJP lies on other parties.

‘TRS will win more than 100 divisions’

KCR said he is confident of winning more than one hundred divisions. “There were no communal clashes in Hyderabad city for the last six years. Law and Order has been maintained without any problem to the citizens who are living happily. It is for the people  to decide whether they want a party like TRS which believes in peaceful coexistence and development or the BJP which is divisive and communal bent upon  inciting communal clashes,” said KCR very clearly. He said all the internal surveys confirm that the TRS is going to bag more than hundred divisions. He has appointed KTR as the campaign manager for the poll management. He very pointedly asked the voters to choose between a city with communal clashes or a city with peace and tranquility.

Sitting getting in TRS

In the first list of TRS candidates containing 105 names, 57 candidates are sitting corporators. Names of the candidates in Uppal and Amberpet assembly segments are yet to be finalized. The list was announced by KTR after midnight of Wednesday.

Talasani’s prediction is 104 divisions for TRS

KCR has pointed out that Hyderabad city has been attracting capital investments because it has been a peaceful place without any communal problems. He said he had allocated Rs. 550 crore and claimed that the BJP was creating obstacles in the path of distribution of compensation to the flood victims. He alleged that the BJP has been trying to divide the nation in the name of religion. He asked if 30 crore minorities would be driven out of the country.

Minister for Animal Husbandry Talasani Srinivasa Yadav has said the TRS is going to win 104 division. People of the city have immense faith in Chief Minister KCR and his son KTR, he said.
