I am told Indian Constitution recognizes all Indians as equals. But anyone who visits a court finds that lawyers treat judges as kings. Any superior officer must be respected and Judges too deserve respect from everyone who comes to court. When a lawyer enters a court hall he greets the judge with folded hands. Fine. When he leaves he goes out with folded hands without turning his back towards the judge until he reaches the door. This I saw only in historical films earlier and not in any other office including that of the Collector. I don’t understand how this is continuing when the corporate world addresses everyone big or small in singular. Don’t you think that this should be the starting point of judicial reforms? Can’t we be respectful without indications of subjugation?
