The AP Legislative Council will witness 23 new MLCs coming in from March 23 to July 20, 2023. It is a big number from emerging vacancies after APLC was constituted. Challa Bhagirath Reddy YSRCP MLC elected from MLA quota passed away due to pneumonia on November 2, 2022 and the seat is vacant now. About two TDP MLCs in including Bachula Arjununudu and Nara Lokesh and four YSRCP MLCs like PVV Suryanarayana Raju, Dokka Manikyavara Prasad, Gangula Prabhakara Reddy and Pothula Suneetha were among the retiring one by March 23, 2023.
About nine MLCs -all of them belonged to TDP and elected from local bodies, will retire on May 1, 2023. Deepak Reddy from Ananthpuram, Mareddy Ravindrnath Reddy, Kadapa, K E Prabhakar, Kurnool, B N Rajasimhulu, Chittoor, Chikkala Ramachandra Rao, East Godavari, Angara Ramamohan and Manthena Venkata Satyanarayana Rau from West Godavari, Satrucharla Vijayarama Rao, Srikakulam and Vakati Narayana Reddy, Nellore, were among the retiring MLCs.
MLCs from graduate constituencies like PVN Madhav, BJP, of Srikakulam-Vizinagaram-Visakhapatnam graduate constituency, Y Srinivasulu Reddy, Independent from Prakasam-Nellore-Chithoor and Vennepusa Gopal Reddu, YSRCP of Kadapa-Ananthpur-Kurnool will retire on March 29, 2023. Likewise, the tenure of two MLCs from Teachers’ Constituency – Vitapu Balasubramanyam, Independent from Prakasam-Nellor-Chithoor and Kathi Narasimha Reddy, Independent from Kadapa-Ananthpur-Kurnool constituency will end on March 29, 2023. Another two MLCs from Governor quota –  NMD Farooq and Chadipiralla Sivanath Reddy- also  will retire on July 20, 2023.
The tenure of Yanamala Rama Krishnudu, Ahok Babu and D. Rama Rao will end before 29 March 2025.
