- Tough to face Jana Reddy
- BJP may be in third position
- TRS trying to retain, chances look tough
Nagarjuansagar: Sagar bypoll was necessitated due to sudden demise of sitting TRS MLA Nomula Narasimhaiah. Election is due in March, but major parties are planning their strategies before the election date. The fight looks to be between ruling party, TRS and Congress in Sagar bypoll. Congress stalwart Jana Reddy will be the candidate as already announced by Telangana Congress in charge Manickham Tagore. Jana Reddy lost in 2018 election to TRS candidate late Nomula.
Congress party is pinning its hopes on Jana Reddy’s victory which is needed for the party to rejuvenate itself in Telangana. Party has almost lost cadre in last two years and was defeated in recent by elections too. Congress High Command is keen on victory and even pushed the announcement of new TPCC chief for a while. This is mainly that there will be no internal dispute and all will fight unanimously for party’s win in by poll. We can understand how much serious congress is looking at Sagar bypoll.

For the pink party, Sagar win is a must. Party is getting defamed slowly after the sudden surge by Saffron in Dubbaka and in GHMC elections. Telangana CM K.Chandrasekha Rao is taking it as a personal fight and moving steps. TRS party has a plan to hold a public meeting in Halia by mobilising huge crowd. There is no strong leader for the pink party in the constituency after tbe sudden demise of Nomula Narasimhiah. It is true that there is no candidate who can fight Jana Reddy and gift victory for TRS.
For BJP, which is on high speed after stupendous performance in Dubbaka by-election, GHMC elections, may face temporary break for its winning strike. Party neither has strong cadre or a leader in Nagarjuna Sagar. Party is just looking for another magic in the combination of Modi and Bandi Sanjay. But the scenario may be changed in Sagar bypoll.
It will be TRS VS Congress in the bypoll as per pollsters and which party wins, will have a slight relief from the jolts received by BJP in recent times.
