Hyderabad: Seniors’ meeting at Nampally’s BJP party office has been going on with an action plan aiming GHMC polls due shortly, likely in December 1st week. Leaders Ponguleti Sudhakar Reddy, D.K. Aruna, Muralidhar Rao, Union Minister Kishan Reddy, MLA Ragunandan Rao, MP Aravind were at the meeting on strategy to be implemented in upcoming GHMC polls.
According to key source in the party, BJP is eyeing 80 seats out of 150 in GHMC. TBJP President Bandi Sanjay may start a paadayatra in Greater Hyderabad area. The feasibility of paadayaatra and the possible dates will be worked out basing on the notification and date of the election. If time permits, paadayatra will through major wards in GHMC could be taken up or else he will tour the wards randomly along with major leaders including Central Ministers.
In last GHMC elections, BJP won only 3 seats, but party feels, this is the right time to show their strength as it is of an opinion that people of Greater Hyderabad are angry with KCR’s government.
Main points they collected for campaign are: promise on double bedrooms made during last elections, drainage systems, rehabilitation work regarding the recent floods, Hyderabad roads.
BJP leaders opined that people living in GHMC will place the party in Mayor Seat with majority divisions if they go to the public on the above issues. Recently, Chief Minister Kalvakuntla Chandrasekhar Rao had one on one meeting with Assaduddin Owaisi on GHMC polls to sort out issues regarding their mutual cooperation. Dubbaka win made the ruling party alert and cautious as far as BJP is concerned.
