Karimnagar: Politics of Huzurabad are taking turns and twists with all the political parties trying for gain upper hand as the bypoll is fast approaching. TRS apperars to have an edge by delivering two strong blows to the saffron party. A week after a senior BJP leader Narasimhulu resigned from the party, now it is the turn of Peddireddy to exit.
BJP loses two senior leaders
Two time MLA from Huzurabad constituency, then TDP and now BJP senior leader, former Minister I. Peddi Reddy resigned from the saffron and resignation letter has already been sent to party State President Bandi Sanjay. Peddi Reddy was hoping for ticket from Huzurabad constituency, was disappointed when the former Minister, TRS leader Eatala Rajender joined the party. He was staying away from party activities and there have been consistent rumours that he would say goodbye to the party. Peddi Reddy previously served as minister in TDP and as long as he was in TDP, he was a strong leader. He joined BJP in the wake of TDP’s existence in Telangana becoming questionable.
It is a clear setback to the BJP that a leader Peddi Reddy’s stature is moving away from the party right before the Huzurabad elections.
TRS on upper hand
KCR was successful in bringing senior leaders like Motkupalli Narsimhulu and Peddireddy into TRS. From the day one after Eatala joined BJP; CM K. Chandrasekhar Rao moved his pawns without any delay. To start with, he picked up senior TDP BC leader L. Ramana and made him hoin the party, later he announced Dalit Bandhu scheme to attract 40,000 voters in the constituency. Now splitting up BJP leaders, he gave major jolt for saffron, whose leaders are in high pitch in the constituency with paadayatra. Both Peddi Reddy and Mothkupalli will join TRS in a short span.
