- 10 days yatra to safeguard Hindu dharma
- Will cover Tirupati Parliamentary constituency
- Counter to BJP’s Rathyatra which was planned in February
Tirupati: Achhen Naidu and other TDP leaders have given tough time to the police before they were put under house arrest. AP TDP President Achhen Naidu, MLA Rama Naidu, a couple of former minsters were kept under house arrest. They were staying at Grand Ritge hotel in Tirupati.
The police had given permission on Wednesday evening for Rath Yatra and withdrew it in the morning. They were not allowed to move. There were a lot of arguments and shouting matches. The Rath Yatra will continue and proceed towards Visakhapatnam where it will end on the tenth day. The TDP has said that the police should not create hurdles to the yatra.
Welcomes AP HC judgment:

Rival Rath Yatras:
If rath yatra is called by a party like, BJP there is nothing surprising for public or political parties. For the first time, TDP President, former Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu has been on an aggressive drive to outsmart BJP on Visit a agenda. He even said ‘Jai Shriram’ the other day. Today, he announced Rath Yatra in the name of ‘Dharma Parirakshana Yatra’ to safeguard Hindu Dharma in the state. Naidu said that yatra will run for 10 day covering 700 villages of Tirupati parliamentary constituency. Naidu held video conference today with booth committee and village committee in charge leaders via video conference who said that it is everyone’s duty to protect the holiness of Tirumala.

TDP attacks YSRCP:
TDP alleged that YCP government is targeting one particular religion and the motive of Yatra is to protect Hindu dharma and as Tirupati is a religious capital for Hindus and so party is starting yatra. As per Naidu, YCP government is forcibly converting Hindus into Christians, liquor and meat is being sold in holy place.
Target Tirupathi by Poll:
TDP is mainly focussing on Tirupathi by poll. The plan to kick start yatra from Tirupathi itself shows how serious TDP is on Tirupathi election. TDP is with strong belief that there will be no objection from police for the yatra and their version is, there will be no comments on any religion. But the intention of TDP is to hit back BJP’s plan. The saffron party also planned for Rath yatra in the month of February. Now TDP is coming up with hijacked plan of Lotus who wants to prove they are the main opposition in the state. BJP opened party office in Tirupathi in last month. TDP also opened office on Wednesday. BJP planned yatra and now TDP is coming out with yatra. This is all just to prove their strength for the upcoming by poll.

Naidu’s U Turn:
Chandrababu in his election speeches before 2019 assembly stood as if he is an example for ‘Secularism’. He even criticised PM Modi by saying Modi is Hinduthva pro and tried to get closer to other religions for the sake of vote bank. Now the sudden change in Babu surprised everyone. With BJP getting stronger day by day than TDP in AP, Babu changed his mind set and started using Hinduthva card. Particularly the by poll is for Tiruapthi, which s said to be religious holy place for Hindus, Babu is trying maximum to gain their votes with all his kingpins.
