Amravati: The era of old guard is coming to an end in AP politics and it is slowly getting replaced by new youth guard for all three major political parties in the state. All these parties are planning to have young team as base to gain control. The ground level looks to be the same if we keenly observe the scenario of YCP. Senior politicians who are teammates and colleagues of late YSR and now in YCP are trying to bring their next generation into limelight for 2024 elections. We can quote few examples like ministers Dharmana Krishna Das promoting his son Krishna Chaitanya, Botsa Satyanarayana promoting his son Sandeep, Perni Nani promoting his son Kittu, Jayaram, giving life to his son Eswar, MLA Madhusudhan Reddy of Srikalahasti, bringing to the fore his daughter Pavithra, MLC Thota Trimurthulu promoting his son Pruthviraj, former MLA Visweswara Reddy promoting his son Pranav Reddy, Kaikaluru MLA D Nageswar Rao bringing his son Vinay into limelight for future political battles. These senior leaders felt that this is the correct time to bring their next generation into limelight which will yield good results under the leadership of Jagan Mohan Reddy.

TDP Supremo Nara Chandrababu Naidu is also slowly giving way to youth leaders who are being identified by Lokesh. The TDP desperately needs young and dynamic blood for the party’s future which is sinking day by day in both Telugu States. TDP’s top leaders came to know about this very late but now they are trying to compensate the loss with Lokesh trying to mobilise the youth in different sectors. He is trying to have online interaction with students asking questions on lack of jobs for them. Lokesh also became slim and trim during lockdown and has been trying to become more communicative as friendly youth leader. The youth icons of the party say that Lokesh will start touring districts in state once the pandemic slows down. New committees will be formed giving priority to youth as per party sources. Chandrabbau knows that by 2024, the number youth voters would increase and to counter Jagan’s charisma and that of Pawan’s, more and more youth should be taken into the party. One has to see how different parties would give leadership role to the youths from different communities and qualifications.
