Bangalore: Puneeth Rajkumar, popularly known as Kannada power star, was admitted in a private hospital, Vikram, after he suffered major cardiac arrest on Firday. Puneeth, while doing Gym, fell down on the spot and at 12 pm on Friday was admitted to a private hospital, who is now in ICU. A group of doctors are continuously monitoring the matinee idol whose condition is said to be very critical.
46 years old Actor, producer Puneeth is called fondly as Appu by his fans. He acted in 29 films so far and said to be perfect body without any ailments until now. The cause of heart attack on preliminary investigation is said to be continuous gym for more than 3 to 4 hrs a day. He is third son of late Kannada Kanteerava Rajkumar. He acted as child artists at the age of 5 and won National Award for his performance in Bettada Hoovu in 1985.
Tense in Bangalore, fans worried
After hearing the news of their hero, large number of fans started gathering at hospital. Security was beefed up in the city and near Governor’s road. Theatres were shut down in Bangalore city and precautionary security measures were in place. Puneeth’s brother Sivaraj kumar rushed to the hospital after coming to know about the news. His latest flick Bhajarang 2 hit the screens on Friday. Karnataka CM Basvaraj Bommai also visited hospital and enquired about the health condition of Puneeth.
According to Dr.Ranganath Naik of Vikram Hospital, Puneeth was admitted to hospital after suffering chest pain at 11.30 am. They are trying their best and his condition is serious, can’t say anything as of now as his condition was in bad condition when brought to hospital.
However an official statement by Hospital group is awaited.
