RRR: Rajamouli to keep the media away

  • Ace director hurt over the controversy on  Bheem teaser
  • Teaser took political turn with threatens of film blaze
  • Decision was  not to reveal script to media anymore

Hyderabad: Star director Rajamouli seems  to have taken  a strong decision after controversies landed over  NTR’s Bheem teaser release . From today (Monday)  there will be no leakage of footage or any updates of the film until and unless the unit decided to do so. It is a strong decision taken by Jakkana who is known for his soft nature.  He warned film unit members that they will be legally charged if they indulge in any leakages. The political turn of the teaser showing NTR with Muslim skull cap, triggered anger among the Adivasis and the BJP leaders.

On 21st Oct, the film unit released the much awaited teaser, NTR as Bheem, surprising the viewers with NTR coming up as a spiritual Muslim man with skullcap. Teaser got attention more with the voice over of Ram Charan and got a huge response from film fans across the globe creating highest likes for the teasers on day one. Every one appreciated NTR’s transformation and the care for the role he took with hard work.

Netizens have problem with skullcap

But on the same day, there were critics of the teaser in social media regarding NTR’s get up. “In the flick being produced  with more than 300 crores budget on the great freedom fighter Komaram Bheem who fought against Razakars and Nizam, why are you showing NTR in a Muslim get up with a skullcap, such blatant falsehood in the name of  history!” is one of the  tweets circulating on Twitter.

It is fiction, clarifies the unit

Film unit clarified that in the story it is a fictious one which is based on two freedom fighters during 1920 who fought against British and Razakars. “Story revolves around two tribal leaders who left their villages at young age without proper education and returned as fiery warriors with guerrilla warfare techniques against the Nizam and the British, sacrificing their lives. It is just a fiction based movie which is inspired by Cheguvara’s memoir ‘The Motorcycle diaries’, the director explained.

TSBJP Fires at Rajamouli

TSBJP President Bandi Sanjay threatened Film unit and director Rajamouli that their properties will be destroyed if NTR is shown with skullcap. “Bheem is a historic man who fought  against Asaf Jahi dynasty and  showing him with skullcap can’t be accepted. Can rajamouli show Owais with vermilion and a saffron kanduva in a film?” Bandi questioned film makers angrily. Adilabad MP Soya Bapurao joined Bandi Sanjay and warned that BJP karyakartas will burn theatres if Bheem portrait is not filmed properly.
