Mumbai: After NCB received crucial information that drugs will be used at a rave party which will be held on cruise with people associated with film industry, it raided the cruise and arrested eight persons on Saturday night. The raid went on for a long while on Sunday morning. It was reported that Aryan Khan, son of Bollywood Super Star Shah Rukh Khan was among the detained.
Aryan Khan was then moved to JJ Hospital for medical check up and in his written statement, Aryan denied purchasing drugs. With the name Aryan Khan emerging in connection with rave party and drugs, it became a high profile case. But he was booked under Section 8(c) of the Narcotics Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985 which reads “Produce, manufacture, possess, sell, purchase, transport, warehouse, use, consume, import inter-state, export inter-State, import into India, export from India or tranship any narcotic drug or psychotropic substance”. Punishment under this Act can be rigorous imprisonment for a term which may extend to six months or a penalty, or both if the amount of seized drug is small. But NCB said in court hearing that 13 gm of cocaine,5 gm of MD, 21 gm of Charas and MDMA and Rs. 1,33,000 in cash was recovered in the raid in Cordelia Cruise and the cost of drugs recovered is Rs. 5 crore approximately.
No connection with NCB drug bust case
CEO of tourism in charge of Cordella Cruise released an official statement on the incident. The Statement reads” By means of this statement, I wish to express that Cordella Cruises is no way directly or indirectly connected to this incident. Cordella Cruises had chartered its ship for a private event to a Delhi based event management Company. Cordella Cruises is extremely mindful of providing wholesome entertainment to families who choose to travel with us. Court remands NCB Custody for 3 persons till October 4th
Aryan Khan and two others were sent to NCB custody by Court up to October 4th. Munmun Dhamecha and Arbaaz Merchant were other two along with Aryan Khan who were produced before a special holiday court of additional metropolitan magistrate Raje Bhosle. According to the Aryan Khan’s advocate Satish Maneshinde ( well known in Rhea Charaborthy case) argued that no incriminating material has been recovered from his client and there is no possession or evidence of consumption by Aryan.
