Studometry’24 for optometry students in Delhi, Chennai today

India Vision Institute’s Studometry’24 conference is being held in Delhi and Chennai today. It will also be simulcast in four locations, including Pune, Kochi, Navsari and Surat, covering four optometry institutions and 175 students, in addition to 230 registered participants in Delhi and 170 in Chennai.

The third edition of the day-long conference is being hosted at Jamia Hamdard, New Delhi and Sri Ramachandra Institute of Higher Education and Research, Chennai.

IVI’s CEO Vinod Daniel said “Studometry’24 offers a great opportunity to students prepare themselves for a career in optometry and make them work ready. The conference has evoked a wide response from across India.” 

“I thank our co-hosts Jamia Hamdard, Sri Ramachandra Institute of Higher Education and the many resource persons who have helped us put together  Studometry’24. The conference will help students better understand Optometry and of its role in providing a pair of corrective glasses to every Indian in need of one.”

“The conference will have 22 sessions with 21 speakers from across sectors, including industry and academics,” he added.

Jamia Hamdard Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr Mohammad Afshar Alam said, “We welcome the Studometry initiative by India Vision Institute, which will provide Optometry students an insight into potential career opportunities and also to be work-ready professionals.”

Prof. Dr. Radha Annamalai, Head of Department of Ophthalmology and Optometry, Sri Ramachandra Institute of Higher Education and Research, said “SRIHER is proud to join hands with IVI in a collaborative effort to enhance educational experiences. Together, we believe in empowering students through the synergy of academia fostering knowledge exchange at the Studometry conference.”

Subjects covered at Studometry’24will include optometry careers overseas, management courses, challenges on the entrepreneurial path, binocular vision and vision therapy, myopia, soft skills and grooming, among others.

The conference is being simulcast to Susruta School of Optometry & Visual Sciences, Kochi, Hari Jyot College of Optometry, Navsari, Dr DY Patil Vidyapeeth, Pune and Shree Bharatimaiya College of Optometry, Surat. The support of Optician India is also acknowledged.

The conference includes an Inter-college Quiz and a Reel competition for students
