New Delhi: Saif Ali Khan’s latest web series ‘Tandav ‘ is facing public outrage on social media. Voice to ban the series touched the peak on Monday and FIR has been lodged in Lucknow against the makers of web series ‘Tandav’. FIR has been lodged against Amazon’s India head, Aparna Purohit, for allegedly depicting Hindu gods and hurting religious sentiments.
In Lucknow, at Hazratganj Kotwali Police station, SI Amaranth filed FIR against director of web series Ali Abbas, Producer Himanshu Krishna Mehra and writer Gaurav Solanki. Film involves Saif Ali khan and Dimple Kapadia in lead roles which was streamed as premiere on Friday in Amazon.
Mayawathi took on twitter and asked the producer to remove whatever is objectionable so that the atmosphere of peace, harmony, and mutual brotherhood in the country is not spoiled anywhere. The highest person occupying the post of Indian Prime Minister has been portrayed in a very belittling manner and women in an insulting manner and series can incite caste anger, the FIR reads.
The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting sought an explanation from streaming platform Amazon Prime Video as per sources. It is well known that Central Government recently brought OTT platforms under the ambit of Ministry of Broadcasting and Information
