MN Roy in 1920 was growing in stature on par with Lenin in Soviet Union and published a book on India, India in Transition. The book was bought and read by lakhs of people at that time.
After a gap of many a decade, Prof. C. Narayana Reddy edited a Telugu translation of that great book. Senior journalist Dr. Narisetti Innaiah translated it into Telugu. This happened sometime in 1980s. Both Narayana Reddy and Innaiah were paid for editing and translating the work.
Somehow, the book was not published. In the meanwhile, the Academy got divided between Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. After a lot of persuasion, the new director Devasena entrusted the job to deputy director Venkatesham. Venkatesham is understood to have told some people who met him in this connection that the script could have been misplaced or lost.
This happened after paying the editing fee and translation fee. Dr.Narayana Reddy is no more and Dr. Innaiah is away in the US. Who is responsible for the loss of a valuable scrit? Who should take action?
