Chennai: Shashikala Natarajan, close aide of late CM Jayalalitha, will be out from Parapanna Agraharam Jail on 27th January. Political analysts expect this as a significant development for political changes in TN for upcoming assembly elections in May.
AIADMK, which is divided into two groups internally, one of Palanisami, CM of TN and the other O.Paneerselvam, Deputy CM, is hoping a bit gain with the release of Shashikala. Recently AIADMK held meeting of steering committee and announced Palanisami as their CM’s candidate for next general assembly elections as it felt OPS is losing importance. Now the news of return of Shashikala will make AIADMK cadre happy as they felt something was missing after Jayalalitha’s demise in the party.

Gurumurthy Takes ‘U’ Turn:
Gurumurthy, Rajinikanth’s close aide, took U-turn after super Star announced his exit from politics. Now Gurumurthy gave a call that if you need to oppose DMK, you must include people like Shashikala, indirectly hinting that AIADMK has to join hands with Chinnamma. He was the one who criticised AIADMK few days before that party is spineless and cordless. Shashikala is keen on gaining upper hand over AIADMK as soon as she walks out of prison. Her followers are planning a huge bike rally on the release day and take her to Jayalalithaa’s memorial on 27th Jan.

BJP eyeing Sasikala’s support:
Saffron party which was trying to increase its vote bank in upcoming election is extending its support to Shashikala as per political analysts. This decision was taken after Rajinikanth issued statements twice confirming his exit from politics. The rift between BJP, AIADMK has widened on the question of seat sharing and CM’s candidate.
