Chennai: Lyricist and dialogue writer Vennelakanti had his last breathe in Chennai Tuesday afternoon. He is well known for dialogue writing for dubbing movies and he had penned songs for many films. He was encouraged by late S.P.Balasubramanyam. He was survived by two sons Shashank and Rakendu Mouli who are also popular lyric writers.
Dialogues for dubbed movies like ‘Panchatantram, Devasthanam fetched him name a lot. Songs in Chettukinda Pleader, Maharshi which were penned by Vennalakanti will be remembered for ever by Telugu audience.
Rajeswar Prasad popularly called with Surname “Vennelakanti” in Tollywood made his debut as a lyric writer with the movie “Sri ramachandrudu.” He worked in SBI in 1979 at Chandragiri and later dedicated his time for movies.
Born on November 30, 1957, Vennalakanti started writing poetry at the age of 11. Acted in dramas written by late Jandhyala before entering Tollywood as a lyricist.
