- Cadre surprised at KCR’s tirade
- Not condemned when leaders made comments on KTR as future CM
- No response from public for call to make KTR CM, feels party leaders
Hyderabad: This is not the sudden call or first time news circulated in circles of TRS party or in public domain that KTR will be the future CM. We are hearing the same post GHMC elections which gained momentum after ministers and MLAs talked deliberately saying ”KTR IS NEXT CM”. Ministers competed with each other in praising KTR in several meetings or on stages in front of public saying that KTR will make the best CM. This was not condemned by either CM KCR or by KTR at that time , but suddenly KCR looks to be serious on this issue and warned the party MLAs to stop the speculations.

No Positive response from Ground level?
This may be one of the key reasons for his U-turn as per analysts. After the word to make KTR as CM put in circulation by ministers and MLAs, there was a poor reaction from public which may have prompted the CM to make such an announcement, says political analysts. There is already severe anti-incumbency against the party and even if KTR is made as CM, there will not be that much difference in the results, said another political analyst. Drop the idea of making KTR the CM and focus on State’s development and solve internal dissidences, was the advice to KCR by senior leaders as per sources.
Split in Party if KTR made CM?
There were speculations about a split in TRS party, if there is change of leadership. Few MLAs and party leaders are looking towards Congress and BJP in coming days, who are not satisfied with CM’s attitude after 2018 assembly elections. Even CM doesn’t want to take risk at this moment by making his son a successor with Sagar by poll, Warangal, Khammam Corporation elections due in short span. Though the news of MLAs looking towards opposition parties was not confirmed, there is a strong feeling internally in the party about the news as graph of party is going down and that of the opposition parties on the raise.

There were rumours about the rift between Harish Rao and CM widening. but the meet at Pragathi Bhavan where both had a detailed discussion made TRS cadre happy.
