High Command starts exercise
Vote for note case haunts Revanth
Seniors oppose Revanth’s name
Hyderabad: Race for TPCC is once again on with the Congress party high command seriously focusing and examining the names which are pending in few states. Malkajgiri MP Revanth Reddy’s name which is under consideration looks to be set aside as per Delhi sources. The main reason is the case of ‘vote for note scam’ with ED filing charge sheet with MP Revanth Reddy as the accused No 1. Revanth filed a petition in Telangana High Court that the case does not fall under the purview of court but rather with Election Commission of India. The petition was dismissed by HC.

Venkatreddy fires the salvo
New name under consideration is Komatireddy Venkat Reddy, Bhongir MP, a senior leader with mass image from Nalgonda district. Senior Congress leaders are opposing the name of Revanth Reddy and still the high command is in a dilemma to finalise the name of new TPCC Chief which was put off till the Sagar bypoll was over. With the bypoll in which party’s senior leader Jana Reddy lost to Bharat, young son of Narasimhaiah because of whose death the by-election was warranted, out of the way, the party top leadership has taken up the old issue.

Sridhar Babu opposes Reventh
As per reliable sources, Revanth Reddy gave ultimatum to the party high command that he will quit the party if the top post is denied. He further said that he will join hands with forces which are ready to fight against ruling party, TRS. Manickham Tagore, AICC secretary in charge of Telangana State, is close to Revanth Reddy. He has been trying for an unanimous decision. But this doesn’t look to be happening as party leaders are divided on the issue. Senior leaders Komatireddy Venkatreddy was first to fire a salvo after hearing the news of Revanth Reddy. He started by saying that party should give preference to him as he has been in the Congress for decades serving the party starting as an NSUI leader. Other leaders like Jagga Reddy, Sridhar Babu, V.Hanumantha rao followed him by saying the party president should be of congress party and not a new person who came from TDP, indirectly pointing out at Revanth Reddy. Sridhar Babu has option to shift the party if high command gives green signal to Revanth.
The decision will be finalised before this month-end as per Delhi Congress sources.
