- KTR intensifies campaign as GHMC polls approach
- Mammoth response all over in road shows
Hyderabad: IT and Municipal Administration Minister K. Taraka Rama Rao (KTR) intensified his campaign with vigorous road shows all over the city which is witnessing a positive response across voters. His criticism against centre and MIM is attracting voters who are listening with interest and raising slogans whenever he says “JAI TELANGANA, JAI TRS”.
Double-edged strategy
KTR has been employing a double strategy during the campaign, by speaking on Hyderabad safety, centre’s partiality against Hyderabad in releasing funds, and requesting voters to maintain communal harmony in the city.

“You want Pink Gulabi (local TRS leaders) or Gujarat Ghulami? ( Slavery to Gujarat) , the slogan which is going as an arrow into voters, and the minister appears to be successful in focusing the attention of the voters on the State as against the Centre. He raised his pitch on centre by comparing in taxes and development.
Delhi tourists
‘Centre is returning only half of the taxes collected from Telangana and the amount is getting diverted for development of Bihar and Gujarat, thus leaving Telangana with empty hands, KTR alleged. He also came up by terming BJP leaders as ‘Delhi tourists’ and requested voters not to fall in their trap.

On BJP, MIM
KTR strongly criticised both the parties for creating divisive politics and trying to disturb communal harmony of the city. “For six years, Hyderabad has been peaceful without any bomb blasts, riots or any sort of violence. After observing this, many tech companies like Apple, Amazon, Facebook chose Hyderabad city and few more companies are in line. I request young voters not to get diverted by Hindu-Muslim slogans raised by BJP and MIM,” KTR said.
KTR shot an arrow at Bandi Sanjay’s comments on surgical strike on old city. “Why should be surgical strike carried out on Hyderabad? Is it in Pakistan? If surgical strike needed, it should be on Unemployment, on crime against women, he asked at a road show at Musheerabad constituency. He felt that MIM is the TRS’ main opposition in GHMC rather than BJP.

Minister poses a question
This minister was the main campaigner in TRS wins in 2016 GHMC elections. He single-handedly campaigned across the city. He has good following among the young voters who appear delighted when he questioned ‘which Hyderabad do you want? City where we have been living like brothers or city with clashes and curfews?’
As far as GHMC elections, KTR is certainly a game-changer for the ruling party.
